The recent hoopla over Actress/Singer Hilary Duff getting the manufactured home in her break-up with ex-National Hockey Leaguer Mike Comrie is once more bringing attention to the rich and frugal who want the good life at a lower price.
But middle America needs good, quality affordable homes too.
The video shown will give you sneak peaks into nice-to-gorgeous quality homes, that sell for about half the cost (or less) of similar conventional housing.
We interviewed Liz Romanchek in her updated pre-HUD Code mobile home (factory built homes on frames constructed prior to June 15, 1976). If you look at her living room, and didn’t know better, would you think she’s in a regular house or a mobile home?
Quality and affordability mean different things to different people. You can buy a manufactured home with granite or even marble countertops, or you may want the more common ‘formica style’ counters. Each one gets the job done.
The updated 1983 manufactured home shown below might be a total dream to someone paying $750 monthly to rent a similar sized apartment. Depending on the market, on leased land, you might save $100 monthly, including principle, interest, tax, insurance and the site fees. At the end of 7 years, someone could own the home outright. So the buyer could save money monthly for 7 years, and then could save more once a home only (chattel) loan is paid off. When the time to move comes, the home’s sale results in equity that the pure renter never gets.
That same principle holds for new homes too. Be it on property you own, are buying or lease, there are options that make the manufactured home buyer far better off than the pure renter.
I’ve owned conventional houses in upscale neighborhoods, and I’ve owned modest to very nice manufactured homes on private land as well as in a land lease community. You cook, clean, eat, live and love the same in an MH as you do a conventional house.
Don’t take my word for it. Do your research on the community(ies) or retail center(s) that serve an area you may want to live. Then, compare the modern manufactured home option with any other kind of housing.
Seeing is believing. New videos are coming soon, thanks for checking back. ##
