During our Inside MH Road Show trip to Martin, MI, we had the privilege of interviewing Dr. David Harnish, Superintendent of Martin Public Schools. This award-winning, recognized educator was brought to Martin to re-ignite their district’s education system. From what we heard, under his ‘servant leadership’ style, that school system is making big strides ahead. This new energy in a now growing, popular school system is attracting newcomers to Martin, a ‘bedroom community’ to Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids Michigan, both of which are a short drive away.
For the young, middle age or golden-agers – as this interview will reveal – Martin sounds like a great place to call home. The challenge for many? Where do they find that quality, affordable home in Martin?
The answer that dozens have discovered recently is the Dover Farms manufactured home community, conveniently located near the major highway connecting Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.
Dr. Harnish not only shares a snapshot of the many factors that make Martin appealing, he explains from his own experience having lived in modern factory-built housing why today’s manufactured homes are not the ‘trailer houses’ and ‘mobile homes’ of yesteryear (see – It’s Evolutionary! – linked here for more on then and now in factory built homes).
Dr. Harnish is an educated man, and we did this interview in the home of an engineer and international corporate executive that chose manufactured home living as their smartest lifestyle option. The video above will reveal why Dover Farms in Martin MI was a great place for us to visit for this episode of our Inside MH Road Show. ##
