The Factory Built House on the Hill

The New York Housing Association made arrangements April 30-May 3, 2013 to place a factory-built home in the Empire State Plaza for their Legislative Summit. The video that follows provides a brief history, but also tells the story of how hundreds of state legislators, their staff and thousands from the public were exposed to the amazing quality found in today’s manufactured and modular homes.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo proclaimed April 27-May 5 Factory Built Homes Days across the state. In doing so, he underscored the fact that manufactured and modular homes are a good source of quality affordable new home construction.

Manufactured housing associations – like The New York Housing Association – are found in virtually every state in the United States and in Canadian provinces too. Their members typically have a code of conduct that may provide first time home shoppers added confidence in the retailer or community they are interested in.

The House on the Hill program is one of the many ways that associations and their member companies work together to advance access, awareness and professionalism in factory-built housing. The video above shows the home, short interviews and the positive reactions of those who saw the “House on the Hill” in the Empire State Plaza earlier this year. ##
